Kamal Mian, President (July 2015 thru July 2016):
Kamal Mian completed his Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Harvard Law School in 1997. Currently, he is a director of Fast Cables Limited, a leading electric and power cable manufacturer in Pakistan. Kamal is also a member of the Executive Committee of Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI).
Kamal Mian has more than 20 years’ experience in local and international corporate and industrial sectors. He began his career as a corporate law attorney at Pakistan’s leading corporate law firm, Orr, Dignam & Co. Islamabad. Subsequently Kamal worked in the corporate and investment banking industry in Saudi Arabia and UAE. He was Head of Asset Finance & Islamic Banking at Saudi Hollandi Bank (ABN Amro affiliate) in Riyadh. Prior to that Kamal was a director at HSBC Amanah, HSBC Bank, Dubai.
Kamal Mian has contributed a chapter in the Islamic Finance: A Practical Guide published by Globe Law & Business, London and written several articles published in international journals. He has appeared as an expert speaker in the field of Islamic banking and finance at various local and international media.

Aziz Nishtar, President (July 2014 thru June 2015):
Aziz Nishtar is a Harvard Law School graduate and is a former Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, a quasi-judicial office he held for almost 15 years. At Harvard Law School, in addition to his Master of Laws (LLM) in 2000, Aziz completed a postgraduate certificate program in international taxation and also trained in developing public policy and legal frameworks on commerce and taxation. While at HLS he was elected to represent the graduate students in the Student Council. He is the managing partner of Nishtar & Zafar, a law firm, which specializes in business, taxation, administrative and investment laws. He has advised numerous international and national clients on taxation, financial and corporate matters and has represented in mediation or litigation of controversies. He has advised federal and subnational governments in Pakistan of various development policy and institutional development issues in addition to working as a business and taxation lawyer representing multinational corporations and prestigious Pakistani companies. He is a member of the Privatization Commission of Pakistan. He is also a professionally trained mediator accredited internationally by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution, UK. He is part of an IFC-supported small core group of mediators to pilot modern commercial mediations in Pakistan. Aziz is a also regular contributor and correspondent to the weekly Tax Notes International, and Worldwide tax Daily, USA based professional publications of global acclaim. He has been contributing as Secretary of Harvard Club of Pakistan (HCP) since 2012 to make it a sustainable and vibrant forum for the Harvard alumni in Pakistan. He was elected President of HCP in June 2014.

Akbar Nasir Khan, President (July 2013 thru June 2014):
Akbar Nasir Khan is a progressive farmer, a
senior member of Police Service of Pakistan, a trainer, an administrator and a poet and a Fulbright scholar. Mr. Nasir Khan holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School. He has a unique experience of working in public, private and development sectors for the last 18 years. He is author of many academic papers on subjects as diverse as public policy, accountability, international Law and constitutional developments. Having had the experience of working as professional civil engineer and then in public organizations in Punjab and KP provinces of Pakistan, he also has had the opportunity to lead multinational and multi-ethnic teams on very sensitive projects in critical times in Europe and Asia. He has served in Sudan (where he contributed to the Darfur Peace Agreement), Nigeria and Kosovo. In UK, he has worked as professional risk analyst for Pakistan and Afghanistan. As Governance Advisor he helped government of Pakistan to prioritise their needs after Floods in 2010. Other than Administration and Public Policy expert, training is his forte. He designs and implements training. He is a certified trainer of UNDP, UNODC, The Asia Foundation and UNOP.

Adnan Afridi, President (July 2012 thru June 2013)
Mr. Afridi has a degree in Economics (A.B, Magna Cum Laude, 1992) from Harvard University and a degree in Corporate Law (JD, Magna Cum Laude in 1995) from Harvard Law School. Mr. Afridi has over 18 years of experience in managing businesses in emerging markets. He started his career with Monitor Company, USA as a Strategy Consultant, designing business unit and corporate strategies for Fortune 50 companies in the financial services sector. Over the past ten years, Mr. Afridi has been facilitating foreign direct investment into Pakistan by assisting in Private Equity transactions, including key privatization transactions. Mr. Afridi has served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) and Managing Director of Karachi Stock Exchange. Later, he was the Group Head Strategy & Investor Relations at Silk Bank. Currently, he is the CEO of Tethyan Group.

Revival History of Harvard Club of Pakistan:

Harvard Club of Pakistan was revived in 2012 thru an intense year long effort by two Harvard graduate students Shahbaz Khan & Syed Nooman Naqvi and Harvard alumni Adnan Afridi. First elections were held in June 2012 and the constitution was ratified in July 2012. Since then, HCP has grown into a country wide robust democratic organization, which holds yearly elections, with the core values of transparency & inclusiveness.
